Our dedicated team stays by your side throughout, answering questions and easing fears. We know you’re trusting us with your child’s health, and we never take that lightly. Our promise is to earn that trust every day, providing as much peace of mind and normalcy as possible.
Our services are designed to make life easier for children with developmental disabilities and the families who care for them. Care is available 24/7 across all five boroughs of NYC, Nassau and Hudson Valley.
Amerikids provides quality in‑home health care for children aged 3–18 with developmental disabilities who qualify for OPWDD services and have Medicaid (CO95) coverage. Our programs deliver compassionate support so every child can thrive.
We know caring for a child with special needs is a full-time job. Our program is designed not only for your child’s health but also to give families much-needed respite and peace of mind. Providing weekly support, parents can rest, work, and focus on family life knowing their child is safe and cared for.
All Amerikids services are fully covered by Medicaid, meaning there is no cost to your family. To qualify, your child must be enrolled in Medicaid and have a doctor’s order confirming the need for in-home care or therapies. To start receiving services, we recommend that you first contact your current healthcare provider to request the necessary recommendation and paperwork for your child’s eligibility.
If your provider is unable to complete the paperwork in a timely manner, we can assist you by referring you to a provider who can help. We understand that paperwork can take time, and we're here to support you through every step.
Once approved, your child can receive the support they need at home without any financial burden.
The Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides families with access to essential benefits and long-term support for children with developmental needs. If your child is not already registered, Amerikids can help guide you through the OPWDD application process so your child can receive the services and support they are entitled to. Just like Medicaid, the first step is to contact your current medical provider for a recommendation and to complete the necessary paperwork.
If your provider cannot complete the paperwork in a timely manner, we can refer you to a provider who can assist.
